Over 50 Prisoners Escape from Lebanon’s Baabda Prison

A mass escape from Baabda prison took place on Saturday at dawn where more than 50 prisoners managed to flee, mediaa reports said.
According to Akhbar Alyawm news agency, more than 40 inmates escaped at dawn from the facility after breaking down the doors of their cells, and beating a security officer who was on his way to collect the trash.
Five of the escapees were killed and two others were injured when their vehicle bumped into a tree near the Constitutional Council in Hadath area.
Investigation was opened in the case, as police cordoned off the area near Baabda’s Justice Palace.
