Qassem: Opposition Coherent, Capable of Facing Challenges
Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Naim Qassem said on Monday that "from the beginning the Resistance was clear that it wants to win the upcoming parliamentary elections to build a resistant Lebanon, where all its components participate in its governance."
He added that Hizbullah maintained agreement with its allies to preserve the National Opposition's cohesion and its ability to face challenges.
In a meeting with Hayan Haidar, who was running for a seat in the Baalbek-Hermel district but recently withdrew, Qassem lauded the security forces "for discovering and arresting spies" working in the South for Mossad, ‘Israel's' national intelligence agency. However, he slammed some political leaders for not making a stance towards the ‘Israeli' threats on Lebanon in forming spy cells and the daily air breach.
"Regardless of elections' outcome we will continue to positively work with all the Lebanese parties... If we emerge as the majority we will insist on partnership not for control of the Lebanese state and exclusion of others, but to consolidate the path of independence and partnership," his eminence said.
