Yemeni Foreign Minister, Hisham Sharaf Abdullah, warned of the increased risks of the humanitarian catastrophe and the tendency of some to foil the good efforts to end the aggression on Yemen and its people.

Abdullah said in letters to the UN Secretary General, the President and members of the Security Council, the President and members of the UN Human Rights Council, the UN envoy to Yemen and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, that "the countries of the coalition of aggression and their mercenaries continue to practice a policy of collective punishment against the Yemeni people, the latest of which is the detention of food vessels and oil derivatives."

He pointed to the importance of taking advantage of the international trend towards the beginnings of a political solution as well as through the peace initiative launched by President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi Al-Mashat.

The Yemeni foreign minister stressed the importance of showing goodwill by the coalition of aggression to end the detention of oil derivatives tankers immediately, which contributes to strengthening confidence-building measures from the parties.
