Hamas Spokesperson to Al-Ahed: Netanyahu’s Al-Khalil Visit May Lead to a Third Intifada
Occupied Palestine – Commenting on Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s anticipated visit to the Abrahamic Mosque in the city of al-Khalil [Hebron], Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas Spokesman Abdel-Latif al-Qanou told Al-Ahed that the visit comes in the course of his electoral propaganda.
Al-Qanou further told the al-Ahed News correspondent in the ‘Israeli’-occupied Palestinian territories that: “The visit is provocative and won’t change anything in the historical and religious reality. It touches the emotions of all Muslims and will lead to our people’s outrage against Netanyahu.”
The Hamas spokesman then recalled former Zionist Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s visit to the holy al-Aqsa Mosque in 2000, which led to the al-Aqsa Intifada [uprising] against the occupation and the Zionist settlers, stressing that the Palestinian people are steadfast in their lands and will fight for their sanctities and legitimate rights.
It is worth noting that the ‘Israeli’ occupation forces imposed tight security measures on the city ahead of Netanyahu’s visit.
