Commander of Iran’s IRGC al-Quds Force Major General Qassem Soleimani stressed that the recent meeting between Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was a celebration for the resistance front's victory.
"Bashar al-Assad's visit to Tehran and his meeting with the Supreme Leader has been reviewed as celebration of victory," Soleimani said, addressing a forum in the Central city of Qom on Wednesday night.
Soleimani further referred to the relations between Tehran and Baghdad as saying: "Now the most secure borders of our country is the common borders with Iraq and our friends are ruling the country and our country's exports to Iraq have reached $12bln."
He underlined the US failure in Iraq, saying despite spending 7 trillion dollars in Iraq, the US president is forced to visit the country secretly at night.
The large number of American forces which had been deployed in Iraq, would not have withdrawn without the existence of an Islamic move, he added.
Soleimani then pointed to the Saudis' remarks that they have been coaxed by the US to promote Wahhabism, saying that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is after normalization of ties with the Zionist regime.
Al-Assad arrived in Tehran on Monday in a quick work visit that started with meeting Imam Khamenei.
