Sayyed Nasrallah on Ayatollah Rafsanjani: We Lost a Great Man, Will Never Forget His Support
On the occasion of the death of Ayatollah Sheikh Hashemi Rafsanjani, Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah issued the following statement:
‘'To Allah we belong and to him we shall return''
We have lost one great man of this nation, Ayatollah Sheikh Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, may his soul rest in peace, who was sponsor, defender and significant supporter of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon over 34 years, and a kindhearted and sympathetic father as well as tough protector in all difficult times.
He believed in the central cause of the Muslim nation, the cause of Palestine and al-Quds, carrying its flag, and was a stubborn and strict resistant fighter against the Zionist scheme in Palestine and the region. He ultimately supported the people of Palestine, their cause, resistance and bloody fighting. Palestine and its cause were always present in his longtime struggle during the tyrant Pahlavi Shah era and after the victory of the blessed Islamic revolution in Iran led by Imam Khomeini, not to mention his role in all the responsibilities he had taken until the last day of his life.
We in Hizbullah will never forget Sheikh Rafsanjani's supporting positions in all fields and in every time. He used to be happy when we are happy and sad when we were sad. He had never been late to support us.
I, in the name of Hizbullah leadership and all the resistance men and the families of martyrs, the sacrificers, and the people of Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, offer deep condolences to His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei and all great scholars, and to Sheikh Rafsanjani's honorable family, as well as the respectful officials in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the dear Iranian people. We ask Allah almighty that the Sheikh's soul would rest in peace and be in the highest ranks of the believers. We also ask Allah that all his lovers be patient and tolerate his loss.
He will always be loved, appreciated, thanked and prayed for.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
