Lapid: “Israel”, Morocco to Open Embassies in 2 Months
By Staff, Agencies
The “Israeli” entity’s alternate Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid announced on Monday that the entity and Morocco agreed this morning to each open full embassies within two months.
Lapid made the statement in Rabat where he is on a historic official trip, the first high-level “Israeli” delegation in Morocco since the two countries normalized diplomatic ties last year as part of the “Abraham Accords”.
Those agreements also saw Washington recognize Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara, in a diplomatic boon for Rabat.
There was no immediate confirmation of Lapid's remarks by Morocco.
Earlier on Thursday, Lapid inaugurated the "Israeli" entity's liaison office in Rabat and visited a synagogue in Casablanca.
Morocco and the “Israeli” entity relaunched direct flights last month, and on Wednesday Lapid and his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita signed three cooperation agreements dealing with diplomatic consultation, culture and air transit.
