Zionist Officer Reviews the Threats Facing ‘Israel’ in the ME: Syria, Iran & Lebanon Top the List
Local Editor

According to the ‘Israeli' "Walla" site, a Zionist officer in the ‘Israeli' army reviewed the threats facing the entity in the Middle East, ahead of its so-called "Independence" anniversary. The officer referred to the closure of the Taba border crossing for the first time in several years, meaning that the "Daesh" terror organization is planning an attack in response to the changes in the Sinai region.

Syria, Iran & Lebanon Top Threats Facing ‘Israel' in the ME

Topping the threats reviewed, "Walla" stated that "the officer addressed the changes and developments in Syria in general and in the government of President Bashar al-Assad in particular." According to him, "the launching of rockets at the entity last month reflects a change in the theory of the regime - and this shows greater confidence." He explained that "firing the rocket which was intercepted by an ‘HTS 3' system" took place about 20 minutes after the ‘Israeli' Air Force ended their attack on targets in Suria and returned to the entity."

The officer expressed Zionist fears regarding the Iranian elections scheduled for later this year. From his point of view, until 2005 Iran was classified as the third or fourth threat to the occupation army. After the election of Ahmadinejad, it was classified as the first threat.

Regarding the Lebanon front, the officer stated that "there is a price for the election of President Michel Aoun, who announced new policies that classify ‘Israel' as an enemy."

Concerning the Palestinian arena, the officer said, "Palestinian Authority President Abu Mazen intends to deduct the salaries of employees in the Gaza Strip. Their salaries will be reduced by 50% and not 30%, and this could increase tension in the region."

Turning to what he called "the wave of terrorism" last year, the Zionist officer said that "the policies applied by the ‘Israeli' army against the Palestinian population prevented a ‘third intifada'. The policies included economic measures and the approval of the continued use of workers in the entity and throughout the West Bank." According to his assessment, "the construction of the wall in the Gaza Strip, which aims to prevent the digging of tunnels in the entity will not lead to an escalation with the ‘Hamas' movement."

The officer spoke about the developments in the Golan Heights, saying that "the UNDOF forces and the United Nations forces returned to occupy their positions in the north and center of the Golan Heights under Zionist protection. According to him, there is a Zionist interest that began in 1974 with the disarmament agreement which entails that the UNDOF forces return to the region and try to maintain the status quo", as he put it.

The officer added that "the Zionist army has completed filling the emergency stores since ‘Operation Protective Edge'. They are at their peak in terms of the availability of fine ammunition. In addition, 230 million shekels were invested in the rehabilitation of Zionist military camps in the framework of the multi-year plan of the Golan Heights until Eilat."
